Pre-Occupational Therapy Banner

Pre-Occupational Therapy

Jamestown College provides a strong background for students pursuing further study in occupational therapy. These students often select a major in biology or exercise physiology. A major in another area may be satifactory as long as the necessary pre-requisites are chosen in consultation with one's academic advisor. In addition to specific science courses, a background in psychology is recommended.

Program Strengths

As a pre-occupational therapy student at Jamestown College, you will benefit from:

  • faculty whose main focus is teaching
  • small class sizes assuring personal attention from instructors
  • advisers who are informed about the requirements and opportunities in pre-professional areas
  • a strong emphasis on the liberal arts, which will prepare you for professional school
  • many organizations and activities providing opportunities to develop non-academic skills while pursuing your professional goals

Recent professional school placement in OccupationalTherapy includes the following:

  • College of St. Catherine
  • Indianapolis University
  • University of South Dakota
  • University of Wisconsin-Superior
