Financial Aid

Think you can't afford us? Think again!

We want you to know that a quality education is within your reach. Many families do not even consider a quality private education because they do not get beyond the "sticker shock". Let us get you past the sticker shock.
You will find that Jamestown College is a significant savings compared to other private, four-year colleges. Take a look at our Academic Scholarship Calculator to get an idea of what your award might be when we factor in our generous academic scholarships.
Remember, there are also many merit awards available in addition to your academic award! Try out our Net Price Calculator, which includes an estimate of academic awards and federal aid opportunities.
With our generous financial aid packages, on average, our students graduate with less debt than many of their peers at North Dakota's major public universities. Don't be surprised if you find that Jamestown College is your best value! Nearly 100 percent of our students receive some form of financial aid including:

Jamestown College anticipates that the following financial aid options will be available to students enrolled in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

U.S. Department of Education

The William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program is the largest federal student loan program. Under this program, the U.S. Department of Education is your lender. There are two types of Direct Loans available to graduate students.

  • Direct Unsubsidized Loans are loans made to eligible undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The student does not have to demonstrate financial need to be eligible for the loan but must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid [commonly called the FAFSA] each year.
Annual Limit: $  20,500 Direct Unsubsidized Loan
          Aggregate Limit:

$138,500 Direct Loan

(No more than $65,500 of this amount may be in Direct Subsidized Loans. The graduate debt limit includes all federal loans received in undergraduate study.)

  • Direct Grad PLUS Loans are loans made to graduate or professional students to help pay for education expenses not covered by other financial aid.

There are no fixed annual or aggregate loan limits for PLUS Loans. A graduate or professional student may be awarded a Grad PLUS Loan up to the student’s cost of attendance.

Alternative or Private Education Loan Programs

Students have the right to select any eligible lender under the Alternative/Private Education Loan Program and Jamestown College will process the request in compliance with federal and institutional packaging guidelines. It is, however, crucial that you consider your options when choosing an alternative student loan. Choose a lender that demonstrates a strong commitment to students and their education. Further, be sure to check the lender’s value and benefits, fees, interest rates, repayment options, and customer service. Below you will find the list of lenders used by Jamestown College students for the processing of Alternative/Private Education Loans over the past five years. It does not include those lenders that no longer fund student loans. (The Jamestown College historical list will be reviewed and updated annually.) Jamestown College does not endorse or accept incentives from any lender nor does it promote any specific lender. The historic list is provided as a courtesy and should not be interpreted as a requirement to use any of the lenders listed. Jamestown College will process an Alternative/Private Education Loan from any participating lender that requires school certification.

NOTE: Effective February 2010, the Federal Reserve and the Department of Education implemented new regulations that impact students who borrow private educational loans. All lenders must be in compliance with these regulations but can handle the application process differently. Contact the lender regarding processing and disbursement time frames. Please be aware that due to the new regulations, it may take a minimum of 15 - 20 business days from the day the application process begins until loan funds are received.
