Performing Arts Series continues with Sonic Escape
The Performing Arts Series at Jamestown College continues with a performance by Sonic Escape at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 in the Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Auditorium.

Sonic Escape is a trio of Juilliard graduates Maria Kaneko Millar (violin), Shawn Wyckoff (flute) and Nan-Cheng Chen (cello) performing original works, arrangements and improvisations.
From New York City, the virtuoso members of Sonic Escape are equally at home performing in classical music’s greatest halls – The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center – or traveling across the country in roles as diverse as fiddle-dancing in “Riverdance,” jamming with Beale Street blues bands, improvising with Native-American flute masters and playing rock clubs.
Sonic Escapeis the recipient of two Canada Council for the Arts Composition Grants, a Puffin Foundation Award and a Chamber Music America Residency Grant. The summer of 2012 marked the release of theirdebut album as well as the trio’s introduction to the folk festival circuit.
