Jamestown College North Dakota's top private college or university

Jamestown College is ranked as North Dakota’s top private college or university and is the only North Dakota school listed among the nation’s top 500 private colleges, according to the fourth annual rankings from StateUniversity.com, a leading web site for college and university information.

Additionally, the rankings place Jamestown College third overall in North Dakota after the state’s two major public research institutions.

Of the 18 North Dakota schools listed in the rankings, eight are considered private institutions.

“It is satisfying to receive recognition as the top private college or university in North Dakota,” says Jamestown College President Robert S. Badal. “Our accelerating level of success in attracting top students and leaders will further enhance our reputation.”

Jamestown College moved up 75 spots on the top private colleges list and 190 spots on the overall list, which is based on statistical analysis and comparison of student/faculty ratio, student retention, test scores, and other critical factors.

Jamestown College has also been ranked in the top tier of “Best Colleges 2013” by U.S. News and World Report and has been named a Best in the Midwest college by Princeton Review and a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs.

Established in 1883, Jamestown College is a private, liberal arts four-year college granting bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, and bachelor of science in nursing degrees as well as master’s degrees in education and a developing Doctor of Physical Therapy. Jamestown College offers more than 40 areas of study.  With the Jamestown College Journey to Success, emphasis is placed not only on preparing students academically in their chosen areas of study, but also on preparing students through an experience that is student-centered and integrates the liberal arts with sound professional programs. The Journey includes a four-year graduation guarantee and a guaranteed internship.

First released in 2009, the StateUniversity.com college rankings were designed to compare raw statistical data, without peer ratings or subjective adjustment such as the school's prestige/brand influencing the list.
