'Freedom Sings' Concert celebrating free expression and music Nov. 11

The Jamestown College Student Media Center will host “Freedom Sings,” a concert celebrating free expression and music, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11 in the Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

The exciting and innovative multi-media show is a joint presentation by Jamestown College and the North Dakota Newspaper Association and the 1 For All campaign’s Liberty Tree Initiative.  read more »

Character in Leadership Fall Conference set for Nov. 10

Tickets are available for Jamestown College’s sixth annual Character in Leadership Fall Conference featuring a keynote address by Roxana Saberi, an Iranian-American journalist falsely accused of spying and imprisoned in Iran’s Evin Prison in 2009.

The Conference will take place on Thursday, Nov. 10 in the Reiland Fine Arts Center on the campus of Jamestown College.  read more »

Hit musical 'Titanic' sets sail Nov. 3-5

Jamestown College Theatre will honor the upcoming 100th anniversary of the tragedy of Titanic as it opens its season with the Tony Award-winning musical depicting the grand ocean liner’s doomed voyage.

“Titanic,” with lyrics and music by Maury Yeston and story and book by Peter Stone, runs Nov. 3-5 at 7:30 p.m. nightly in the Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Auditorium.

Unison Bank will sponsor the Friday performance of "Titanic." The Friends of the Fine Arts will host a reception during intermission of Friday's performance.  read more »

Block Party receives grant

The Jamestown Community Block Party, an annual event held to welcome Jamestown College students to the community, has received a $500 Event Volunteerism Always Pays grant from the Walmart Foundation.

Held in downtown Jamestown, the Block Party invites businesses and organizations to showcase all they have to offer to Jamestown College students and the community. First-year students attend together as part of New Student Orientation activities. The event has grown each year since the first Block Party held in 2008.  read more »

$3 million gift toward science building announced

Jamestown College has announced a $3 million gift from Margaret Thielsch, East Greenwich, R.I., toward the construction of a new science and nursing laboratory complex adjacent to Orlady Hall.

Originally from Edgeley, N.D., Thielsch is a 1943 graduate of Jamestown College and is a longtime supporter of scholarships and the Journey to Success.  read more »
