Jamestown College chamber ensembles will present a Christmas Concert at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4 in Voorhees Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.
Members of the Wind Ensemble will play Christmas favorites in small groups, including a flute trio; clarinet trio, quartet and quintet; saxophone quartet; two brass ensembles; and a percussion ensemble. The concert will be presented in a prism format utilizing multiple points of performance throughout the Chapel. read more »
The Jamestown College Department of Music will present its annual Advent Vespers service at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 in Voorhees Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
The service, an opportunity for individual reflection on the Advent and Christmas seasons of the Church Year, will include congregational hymns and organ selections. All selections will be played on the Black-Schlossman Pipe Organ, 1999, gift of the late Anna Jane Schlossman and her family, Fargo. The organ is one of the five largest pipe organs in the state of North Dakota. read more »
The Jamestown College Office of Admissions is hosting the Jamestown Choir Experience for prospective students on Friday, Dec. 2. The event is free.
Attendees will experience a rehearsal of the world-renowned Jamestown College Concert Choir and have the opportunity to participate in campus tours, scholarship auditions and faculty visits.
For more than 90 years, the Jamestown College Concert Choir has had a reputation for excellence in choral performance and has toured throughout the United States and Europe. The Choir toured China in May 2010. read more »
Jamestown College student volunteers collected more than 2,300 items during the Student Senate’s annual “Trick or Can” door-to-door food drive for the Community Action Food Pantry on Oct. 27.
The Jimmie track team brought in the most items, 677, followed by Nursing Student Association’s 458 items and a Prentice Hall team’s 301 items. A total of eight teams of students participated.
