The Jamestown College men’s basketball team mounted a thrilling comeback but fell just short as they were defeated by St. Francis (Ind.) 64-63 Thursday in the opening round of the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Championships in Point Lookout, Mo.
The Jimmies were led in scoring by Mark Hoge (sophomore, Ironton, Minn.) with 17, Byron Jones (senior, Glenarden, Md.) with 16 and Davon Thomas (sophomore, Gaffney, S.C.) with 12. Drew Preiner (freshman, Oakdale, Minn.) led the Jimmies in rebounds with 10.

Fourteen Jamestown College senior nursing students and two faculty members have returned from Chogoria, Kenya, where they spent a month working at Chogoria Hospital, a facility affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. Dr. Gary Watts, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Jamestown College, announces 265 students have been named to the Dean’s List for the 2011 fall semester.
The Dean’s List includes all full-time students who, during any given semester, earn a grade point average of 3.50 or better on a minimum of 12 semester credits.
